Wet gel electrodes are generally preferred for short-term monitoring (up to 72 hours) because they provide superior signal quality and faster tracing results.  They achieve this by utilizing liquid to penetrate the skins surface and instantly lower impedance (electrical resistance)

Wet gel electrodes outperform solid gel options in several key areas:
